Midsummer Disco for Fleetwood’s Festive Lights
June 16, 2008
The fundraising efforts of Fleetwood’s Festive Lights Fund Committee are continuing apace, and on Saturday 21st June they’ll be holding ‘A Midsummer Night’s Disco’ at the Royal British Legion.
Starting at 7.30, and running ’til late, the event will raise vital funds for Fleetwood’s festive lights. The disco will feature a disco, live music acts Bex and Ruff Diamond, and an Elvis tribute act. A barbeque, mini auction and raffle will add to the entertainment, and optional fancy dress will be rewarded with a prize for the best costumes.
Committee Chairman Ellen Bater is looking forward to a night of fun: “It might seem early to be fundraising, but we have to work all year round to raise enough funds to cover the costs of putting on the lights for the year ahead. Do come and join us for a great night out!”
The mini auction is sure to attract interest with a much sought after painting by Mr Phillip Dell of the trawler FD236 Zonia. Sports fans, meanwhile, will be able to lay claim to a football shirt signed by newly-promoted Fleetwood Town FC. Other items up for auction include a Frogtastic Bag from local cartoon canine Frog the Dog and Beijing 2008 Official Olympic memorabilia.
The Midsummer Night’s Disco promises to be a real highlight of Fleetwood’s entertainment calendar. Book your tickets now by calling 876931, email seasidesandles-lights@yahoo.com or click here to download the poster!
